Friends find me is a phone application that is being developed to let your friends know where you are adventuring if you don't get back in time so they can come and find you. It is a hike safety app.

Here is how it works:
You put in your plan for your hike or your current location

This gets sent to a server so that if you lose your phone or are out of range it will still let your friends know to come looking for you.

Have you ever gone on what was going to be a short adventure and because of unexpected events it suddenly becomes a bit sketchy? Do you sometimes think, that could have really gone South and no one knew where we were.

The first rule of remote area first aid is let someone know where you are going. No one can find you if they don't know what you were doing.
At the same time, I don't want to let my friends know every time I go for a short adventure, that would be very annoying. And part of getting out there is enjoying the solitude, not having to communicate constantly with other people.
At the same time, if I go missing, I'd like them to know where I am so that they can find me if I'm injured or completely lost.

This app sends your trip information to a secure server which only sends it to your friends and family when you don't get back in time. Because that is really the only time they need to know.
It is good for any activity where you enjoy getting lost out in the wild, all the things that are good for your soul:

- snowboarding
- skiing
You can even use it when you are going on a date so that your friends only know if you are in trouble.
